Don, this book has been sitting on my desk for several years now, unopened, due mainly to work distractions, especially a new novel of my own. But I'm a great admirer of McEwan, and his subtle and compassionate, humanistic stories. So, thanks for the reminder. It sounds marvelous.
Bob, "So many books, so little time!" I first saw that slogan on a T-shirt in a bookstore at Broadway and 57th, maybe 58th. Now I guess its corollary is "so many books, so few bookshops." Hope you can find the time to read this one, but get your own finished as the top priority.
