Why ‘writing’?
Don’s a writer. A journalist who went into the business world, then academia, and now this: He is writing - a couple of novels on the go, other things on the way. He has written two academic books and dozens of articles in scholarly journals. Some of those that raise issues with links to the humanities and creativity. The focus in these pages is on the process of writing: book reviews, notes about writing, ideas (call it philosophy, if you like) and novels of ideas.
Credentials? For this “stack”: He studied literature and writing at the University of Illinois (BA, MA) and the University of Exeter (PhD), and published poetry as a (20-something) youngster. He has two others degrees, an MBA (Warwick) and a PhD in management studies (Liverpool).
He once wrote 30,000 words of news copy in a weekend at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
